Many people say they can’t hear this

Hi dear reader. You can either read this article or listen to this article as a podcast episode. Here is the link to the podcast for this article:

https://anchor.fm/trainersperspective/episodes/Many-people-say-this–They-cant-hear-this-eq3n3k

Today’s topic is one which I hear a lot from people.

Many say that they don’t hear the voice of God.

We all desire to hear the One who have created us and the world. The One who are spoken about too little but we know that He excist. We are sometimes in difficult situations where we need to make decisions and in dire need to hear from God. What we should or shouldn’t do. We expect an audible voice to come to us.

Many Spirit filled people, preachers of God’s Word says that the voice of God is one which speaks in your heart. It’s not a loud audible voice but a still, soft one. Before God pulled me to His Son Jesus Christ in 2015, I didn’t understand this. Or so I thought. I will never forget the time in 2015 where I called out to God for help. We have lost everything and lived in a tool shed (Wendy house). I was driving to a client of mine and as I was driving, I was talking to God. It was but a few meters from my client’s home, where I heard: “I love you Marleen.” Immediately I stopped the car because my eyes were full of tears. The presence of God was so much and to have heard His voice, was incredible. From that day on, I knew what God’s voice sounded like. It’s like God’s Word says:

John 10:27-28 – King James Version

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Although I and many state that they can hear God’s voice, you might be frustrated because you never heard God’s voice. At the moment I am going through a very difficult time where I need God’s advice. I need to hear from God daily to know what I should do in the currect situation which I find myself in. So what do I do? I shove my nose into God’s Word every morning and if I get the chance throughout the day, I will do so again. I am constantly seeking, going through and reading the Word of God, which is the Bible, to see what God wants me to do in this situation. Although the advice I get, aren’t the things I want to do, I know that this is what God wants me to do in this situation. I know what His will is and because I love Jesus, I will do God’s will.

It’s not always easy or comfortable to do what God wants us to do because of our flesh who are against His Word. Our flesh that wants to do the things that are opposite of God’s Word for example, when someone hurts you or your family, you don’t want to forgive them or show good towards them. But the thing is, God wants us to do that. He wants us to forgive them like He forgive us and He wants us to show good towards our enemies so that we can be called children of God. What does this mean? That when you forgive and do good to those who persecute you, they will see Jesus. God says:

Mat 5:44-48  But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

We ask why we don’t hear God’s voice. It’s because we don’t open up the Bible and read it. Because what is written in the Bible, is God’s voice. Next time when you are in dire need or longing to hear God’s voice, open up your Bible. If you don’t have a Bible, there are many websites out there where you can read the Bible, like Bible.com. Even if you are just doubting whether God love you or when you feel alone, read what God says in His Word. He will never forsake you nor leave you and He loved the world so much, that He have sent His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish.

$23

Do you remember the days where your parents gave you an allowance every month? Our daughter currently has $23 (+/-R423) in her savings account which is money that we gave her as an allowance over a span of a few months. She likes to save her money and when she saw how much money she had in her account; she was surprised. She was under the impression that she had a lot less. When our daughter left the room, I remember the days where a few rand (dollars or whatever currency you grew up with), was like “wow.” It felt as if I had a lot of money and with that money, I could do whatever I wanted.

Php 4:6  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Eph 5:20  giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

I know that the Word of God tells us to be thankful in everything for everything. When I see how happy our child is, about that few Rands, it teaches me to be thankful for what I have. Sometimes we complain that we do not have enough money for ourselves. It’s mortgage, food, utilities bills, school fees, petrol, diesel, car repayments and chocolate bar, massage, haircut, etc. Do you hear the last things that I have mentioned? Chocolate bar, massage, haircut. Those last-mentioned things are like the pocket money our daughter have in her savings account. It’s the little bit of money you have that you spent on yourself, for whatever you desire. But still we complain. Still we want more.

Where are the days where we all were content with the R400 ($23)?

Why are we not happy with the little we do have for ourselves?

My husband and I work for the Lord and the Lord Jesus Christ give us secondhand clothes through others. We then take these clothes and do an outreach to the car guards here in South Africa. When you hear how they scrape a little bit of money together as a team to have something to eat that morning or how the supervisor’s wife have cancer or how some of them live with other people because they are too poor to afford their own home. Then you realize how you take what you have, for granted. How you are not grateful anymore for what God gives you.

Challenge:

Take 5 minutes today, after a long day’s work, and think about what you have in your life.

A dry place to stay in, even if it is only a room. You do not have to sleep on the street.

A home, a mortgage to pay.

Maybe your health is suffering, and your body is full of aches and pains, but you are still alive. Able to spend time with friends or loved ones.

You had a job today that pay a salary, or you may be a housewife who had a long tiring day with house chores and kids. But you have a home to get to at night, lay in a bed and listen to this podcast.

It is easy to get distracted with what we do not have, instead of what we do have. Let us be thankful today and go to God, thanking Him for what we have. Food, home, somewhere to sleep, someone who takes care of us, love and His love for us.

Hul lyk gelykkiger as ekke

Weet jy?

Bv, my ouers was arm so ek gaan ook arm loop deur die lewe.

“Neig jou oor tot my woorde.” M.a.w. vul jou gedagtes met God se Woord.

God soek eerste plek in jou lewe

Exo 20:5  Jy mag jou voor hulle nie neerbuig en hulle nie dien nie; want Ek, die HERE jou God, is ‘n jaloerse God wat die misdaad van die vaders besoek aan die kinders, aan die derde en aan die vierde geslag van die wat My haat;

Jos 24:14-17  Vrees dan nou die HERE en dien Hom in opregtheid en waarheid, en verwyder die gode wat julle vaders gedien het oorkant die Eufraat en in Egipte, en dien die HERE.  Maar as dit verkeerd is in julle oë om die HERE te dien, kies dan vir julle vandag wie julle wil dien: òf die gode wat julle vaders daar oorkant die Eufraat gedien het, òf die gode van die Amoriete in wie se land julle woon; maar ek en my huis, ons sal die HERE dien. Toe antwoord die volk en sê: Dit is ver van ons, dat ons die HERE sou verlaat om ander gode te dien; want die HERE onse God, dit is Hy wat ons en ons vaders uit Egipteland uit die slawehuis laat optrek het, en wat voor ons oë hierdie groot tekens gedoen het en ons bewaar het op die hele pad wat ons gegaan en onder al die volke waar ons dwarsdeur getrek het;

Where is God in this Covid 19?

One might ask, “Where is God?” in this time of the Covid 19 virus.

You feel scared, alone and isolated. All nations and population groups are in panic. Normal behavior is out of the window. Everywhere is fear, masks, gloves, bottles of hand sanitation in shops and entrances.

It’s hard to hold and remember that:
Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid and do not be afraid of them; because this is the Here. Your God who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. – DEUTERONOMY 31: 6

or

That Jesus’ Name is “Immanuel” which means: God with us (Mat 1:23).
Or that the Word of God, “who cannot lie,” (Titus 1: 2) is true.

Hold on to the Lord and if you are afraid, feel like you are going mad due to the isolation or feel panicky, then contact someone. Talk to them, find someone who is Spirit filled and talk. Talk to the Lord Jesus Christ as well, He hears.
