If you have a question with regards to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Christianity, faith, please contact us through our website www.marleenswart.org, and we will try to answer them here on the podcast.
Our first question for today is:
Can you become a Christian, by attending a church sermon or service?
Pastor/Evangelist preach and Holy Spirit do the conviction.
Holy Spirit convicts:
Joh 16:8-9 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and concerning righteousness and concerning judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me,
When Holy Spirit convicts person who attends sermon or service of his/her sin, then that person will repent and give their live to Jesus
Act 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, Act 3:20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,
And when you do that, you are a child of God.
Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus,
But how do we know who is genuine Christians?
Mat 7:15-20 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits: they do not gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles, do they? In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree is not able to produce bad fruit, nor a bad tree to produce good fruit. Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. As a result, you will recognize them by their fruits.
And what is these fruits the Bible talks about, on how we can recognize a true Christian by?
Gal 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such things there is no law.
Do we know when Jesus Christ will return? Will it be 2030?
Mat 24:36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
Mat 24:44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
We do not know when Jesus will return. The Bible says that only God, the Father knows. And that we need to be prepared because Jesus will come unexpectedly
Mat 24:37 For just as the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.
Mat 24:38 For as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered into the ark.
Mat 24:39 And they did not know anything until the deluge came and swept them all away. So also the coming of the Son of Man will be.
Last question for today:
Christians always say that they will pray for you. Why don’t they help you? I don’t need prayer, I need help.
For me, when I say that I will pray for someone else, is because I can’t offer them help in that present moment. I might not have the means to help them in that moment. What I as Christian can offer, is a prayer and my support. The Word of God teaches us as children of God, as Christians, to pray for one another:
James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
Job 42:10 And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
I too sometimes want people to help me when I confide in them but I need to understand, that my help comes from God.
Psalm 121:1 I lift up my eyes to the hills– where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
If that person (Christian) who I have confide in, offers me help, then I know that the help that person offer me, is something that the Lord have put onto that person’s heart. But I have to testify. That my help most of the time come from others who do not know about my problem or situation. Help comes when I least expects it from others. By means of someone who sends us food or other times is provision by God by blessing me with a new client. Don’t trust man, trust God.
